When you use RentKhata, we collect the information you provide directly:
Account information — name, email address, phone number, and business name (for property owners).
Renter information — name, phone number, email address, lease dates, and deposit amounts, as entered by the property owner.
Identity documents — Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, rental agreements, and other documents uploaded by owners or renters for record-keeping purposes.
Payment records — invoice amounts, payment dates, methods, and UPI transaction references.
Room inquiry details — name and phone number submitted by visitors browsing public room listings.
Why we collect it
All data is collected solely to provide the rent and property management service. Specifically:
To generate invoices, track payments, and send reminders.
To let owners manage renter records, documents, and lease details.
To provide renters with a self-service portal to view their invoices and upload documents.
To connect room seekers with property owners through the public listing inquiry system.
How we store it
Your data is stored on the server hosting this application. Uploaded files (documents, photos) are stored in access-controlled directories that require authentication to access — except room listing photos, which are intentionally public. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text.
We do not sell your data
Your personal information, documents, and payment records are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Data is only used within the application to provide the service you signed up for.
Third-party services
RentKhata may use the following third-party services:
WhatsApp Business API providers — to send payment reminders and announcements to renters, only when configured by the platform operator.
QR code generation services — to render UPI payment QR codes. Only the UPI ID and payment amount are sent; no personal data is included.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. Property owners can manage and delete renter data through their dashboard. For account-level requests, contact the platform administrator at info@abdurrahimkhan.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
